Five Days off of work!!

Yup... That's so many days and I am super excited! I don't know what to do with all this free time! ...Actually I do know. I'm going to a wedding, but that's not really related to book stuff so I don't think that anybody cares X3

Still, all this time off is a good and bad thing. I mean, I will have more time to write and stuff, but I really need the money. One thing I need this money for is a new computer, which is kinda important to me since I do all my work on here and whatnot. It's running uberly slow now and sometimes it can't handle too much so it has to shut off. Luckily that hasn't happened to me while I was working, but I don't want to press my luck.

I spent about $700 dollars on the thing, so I'm going to assume I would need around that again. Do you see why I need to work at my part-time job more. It's like a lose-lose situation. At least I'm spending this time that I'm not making money writing. Hopefully one day that will pay too, but as of now, the money really isn't coming.

So if anyone wants some short stories or poems I'm willing to do that. Until then, I will spend my time off hiding in my house writhing... Happy Summer Solstice guys!!

Just Got Home...

...from hanging out with my friends. It was a nice day off to say the least, but now I'm back into the swing of writing again. To make matters even better, I only work two days next week, meaning I have so much free time to write again!

Awesomeeeeee!

I've been working almost every day at my part-time job recently, so I'm def going to enjoy this for sure! I don't know if I'm only going to write or blog more, but I know that whatever I do will end up being a great use of my days off.

However, I think I'll start this tomorrow. I've had a long day and I think that my bed is calling me. Not literally, but you guys get the point, right?

Here's to the end of my short blog post!

Getting back into the swing of writing :D

...and it feels great! I'm finally starting to write the way I used to! The only thing that stops me from writing my best is the internet. Yes, the lovely, distracting internet. Sometimes it seems like it is too distracting, but I'm trying to force myself to get off the social media sites a little.

Every little bit helps.

I think another reason why I'm starting to write a lot more again is because I'm reading more. Besides, the two go hand-in-hand. I haven't read much since junior year in high school, so its nice to pick up a book again. It's an even better feeling when I finish a book!

As long as I can keep this up, I should have a book finished by the end of the summer. Wouldn't that just be great? I haven't actually finished a book in ages. Alright, with that said, it's time to get to work!!

Reading!

I've spent a good portion of my summer reading, and I'm very proud of myself! Why? Well, because I normally don't spend any time at all reading once class ends. Last summer I spent a lot of my time simply goofing off on the internet, which was fun and all, but I didn't get anything done.

Asides from that, you will never become a better writer if you don't read anything new. Hence that logic, I started to pick up some more books and I'm very happy with the book I'm reading now.

Wicked!

I've always heard that it was a really good book, but I was wary of it considering it's basically Wizard of Oz. Considering I've seen the movie dozens of times before, heard all of the annoying songs, and watched the witch die dozens of times I never made time for the book. However, it wasn't that long ago until I saw this little beauty at a Barnes and Nobles out of town. It's leatherbound, has beautiful art and the pages look like they're dipped in gold. Not only that, but it's not just one book but two! The second one in the series comes with it: how cool is that?

That being being said, I decided why not? I got the book and started reading it a little bit later. Once reading it I've decided that I love the green witch and that Dorthy is absolutely evil! I'm not even that far into it yet, I mean the witch is still a teenager and all, but she is my favorite character out of the entire book.

...I didn't mean for this to turn into a review, but I guess it did. Nevertheless, I completely recommend this story. I'll probably read a little more of it later before digging into the next book in my giant pile.

And that is my giant summer pile... Wish me luck

Video game reviewing?

Yeah, that's what I said...

Video game reviewing.

Now let me explain, because it's not as random as it sounds. All my life I've always loved video games, just about as much as I love writing. Recently I've been worrying about money. Even though I don't get paid for writing now I'm okay with that; however, I kinda want that to change down the road. After all, that's what I'm going to college for. To become a writer, using the knowledge I've gained from earning a degree in English. I know that I can get through college with ease, that I'm not worried about... It's just that writers aren't always the ones who land jobs right away. That's why I was suggested that I should be a video game reviewer on the side.

Reviewer?

Hmmm... Now that's something that never crossed my mind. I've always wanted to be a writer and when I said that I meant a novelist, so I never thought about doing anything else. Still, a reviewer...? I mean, I guess I could give it a try because it wouldn't hurt. Even if I did consider it I wouldn't even know where to start. The only thing I could think of would be to start a video game blog. Maybe.

I don't know.

I think I could try and see how it goes. In the meantime, I'll keep writing my stories. One day I'll be a published writer, until then I'll just have to keep on trying!

Collaborating

...is a pain.

Why? Well I'll tell you! Basically my boyfriend and I decided that we wanted to work on something together. (And just so you know, that picture was the only one I could find of two writers, so no funny comments, haha!) It sounded fine and all in the beginning, but now I'm not really feeling that way. The only reason it's so hard is because you have to actually agree with each other and their ideas. I mean, something that I might say will sound dumb to him, and vic-versa.

Let me tell you that nothing is more discouraging then hearing that your ideas suck. I know that's not what he's trying to do; however, that is how it feels. That's kinda why I stopped working on the collaboration. I almost feel like I just have to agree with him so we can start working; then again, that means the story really isn't mine...

And this is why I kinda took a break working on the collaboration. I don't know, maybe I will try again soon. Besides, I do need to work more and that could help, even if we disagree on ideas!
